A 17-year-old who posed as a doctor has been remanded in custody because he could not stop pretending to be a health worker. The teenager had previously pleaded guilty to offences related to his ‘treatment’ of a 12-year-old Adelaide girl who fell off her scooter in January.

I am writing in response to Charles Krauthammer’s claim that medical malpractice is driving up the cost of medical care. I believe lucrative physician incentive contracts are in large part responsible for rising medical costs. For example, pediatric neurologist Dr. Yasser Awaad signed an incentive contract with Oakwood Healthcare wherein he could earn supplemental income that was comprised of 50 percent of the net collected billings.
